Motta jugs have proved their worth in our trade massively over the last 25 years. We still talk about the tulip jugs as new, but they have been around since 2017!
Part of our focus with milk jugs for espresso-based drinks is to keep the surface washable. Stainless steel, in my mind, is the sensible option. It is non-porous and infinitely more cleanable than other steel offerings. Teflon jugs start off with a surface that is porous to take on the teflon. Another part is to use a jug that you like the shape of. Are we not talking about getting the Harry Potter equivalent of acquiring the perfect new wand in Ollivander’s?
This is the new 500ml tulip jug. I think it’s simply brilliant as the pouring spout is so accurate. Others are not as keen. There is no right or wrong here.
The 500ml is great for up to 170ml of milk (a 10oz drink, 12 at a push)
The 350ml is good for: 100ml up to 125/130ml, ideal for flat whites.(5-9oz)
