This is our last Colombian coffee of the season, and what an amazing season it has been. In terms of complexity and depth of flavour, this coffee is little short of amazing. I would normally add something like, this will probably be gone within a few weeks, in life before lockdown, however, there is a bright side to this, as there is more chance for some of you to try this delicious coffee. This is another coffee from our friends (John and Claudia) in the field working with micro-producers in the Armenian area of Tolima.
Farm: Los Andes
Farmer: Jaminton Molano
Hamlet: Caicedonia
Region: Tolima
Size 3.5 Hectares
Altitude: 1780 Meters above sea level
Varieties: Caturra, Typica & Colombia
Process: 34 hours in fermentation and dried on patios. Fully washed.
Roast level: Light to medium filter.
Cup potential: In filter brewing, this is all of the best sugars; Tropical fruit, sugar cane, and or caramel. Soft orange acidity, creamy body and so balanced. 60-70g per litre
In espresso, this is juicy bright, and delicious too.
Removing these small farms from the federation’s mass coffee pool is a great thing. Due to the fact that they are producing excellence and giving them oxygen and exposure to their own market in their own right is a fantastic thing to be able to do, as long as we can keep on doing it.
We really hope you enjoy this coffee too.
